“In this year, Western China Imports Expo 2015, the 3rd China (Sichuan) Agriculture Expo, the 8th China International SME Fair, the 2nd China (Chengdu) International General Aviation Industry Development Summit Forum, the 2^nd China Intelligent Automobile Forum, etc. will be held in Sichuan.”, in the afternoon of February 6th, at the Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs 2015 Spring Fellowship Activity and Introductory Meeting held in the Sichuan Hall of Honored Guest Building in Chengdu Jinjiang Hotel, Director of Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs-Zheng Li expertly enumerated the “main events” convention and exhibition in Sichuan in 2015.

Consul-generals (commercial consuls) in Sichuan and Chongqing consulates from 22 countries and regions , representatives of overseas investment & trade organizations, trade associations, international chamber of commerce, international famous transnational enterprises in Sichuan and Chongqing, media representatives, etc. altogether more than 260 honored guests gathered here to exchange greetings, renewing old friendship heartily and exchanging ideas.

Holding the traditional spring fellowship activity together with the introductory meeting at the same time turns into one of the highlights of this event to attract people’s attention. According to the sponsor, this seeks to further enhance the actual effect of the event, giving a “forecast” to our guests on the important exhibition information in Sichuan in 2015 at the first time along with the New Year wishes and greetings to do the warm-up for booming development of Sichuan exhibition industry in a new year.

At the meeting, it is unveiled that the Western China Imports Expo 2015 will be kicked off in Chengdu Century City New International Convention & Exhibition Center from October 23rd to 27th this year themed by "expanding the trade cooperation and boosting coordinated development". With the supports of Ministry of Commerce, CCPIT and Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, the Expo will be cosponsored by CCIC, Secretariat of Organizing Committee of the WCIF and CFOCE and co-organized by CGCC, CICASME, China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products and other domestic institutions and external (overseas) important trade associations, consulates in Chengdu (Chongqing) and external (overseas) trade promotion agencies.

Comparing with other large-scale domestic exhibitions, this event appears particularly "delicate"-with covering area of 80000m2, the exhibition is made up of 6 exhibition halls including Advanced Technology and Equipment Hall, Vehicle and Spare Parts Hall, Service Trade Hall, Commodities from Countries along the “One Belt One Road” Hall, Commodities from Sister Cities Hall and Consumer Goods Hall and one outdoor exhibition area. In order to boost the economy & trade negotiation, enhance industry exchange, strengthen the actual effect of exhibition and establish new platform in Sichuan for opening up, the Western China Forum on Free Trade and Economic Globalization, the Western China Imports Purchase & Supply Symposium 2015, the China-Europe Investment, Trade and Technology Cooperation Symposium and the Sino-French Cooperation Promotion of SMEs as well as supporting activities with the same theme will be held at the same time.

Zheng Li indicated that Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs, as an important institution to promote the development of exhibition industry of the whole province, would continue supporting the exhibition industry development of different cities and prefectures in Sichuan Province by means of co-hosting exhibitions and other methods. The 3rd Mianyang International Hi-Tech Expo, the 8th CIADE, the 4th China International Logistics Expo, the 2nd Leshan, China International Tourism Trade Fair, the 7th China Paocai International Trade Fair and other events would take turns staging exciting plays in Sichuan in the next year.

While inviting domestic and foreign merchants to the exhibitions and fairs in Sichuan with open arms, Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs and Sichuan merchants took a bold step outwards by setting up Sichuan exhibition halls at the CeBIT, holding Western Fair in Taiwan for cross-strait introduction and recommendation and conducting Sino-Russia Drainage Basins Economic and Trade Cultural Cooperation Achievements Exhibition.

During the meeting, distinguished guests made excellent speeches and shared their opinions on topics of Sichuan opening up, economic & trade exchange, development of provincial exhibition industry, etc. Consul-generals in Sichuan and Chongqing from 7 countries including Thailand, Australia, Korea, Pakistan, America, Philippines and Hungary and representatives of overseas trade & investment institutions and trade associations from Czekh, Champagne-Ardennes in France, etc. extended their highly appreciate to the achievements of Western Fair over the 15 years and showed great expectation for the series exhibitions will be held in Sichuan this year, they said that they hope to further expand the cooperation fields, improve cooperation levels and promote win-win situation by right of the exhibition platforms like Western Fair.
