Volunteer Recruitment for the 2nd Western China International Fair Import and Export Expo and International Investment Conference Starts

  The 2nd Western China International Fair Import and Export Expo and Western China (Sichuan) International Investment Conference is to be held in September 15-18 in Western China International Expo City. It is organized by China Chamber of International Commerce and Organizing Committee of Western China International Fair, supported by Sichuan Working Committee of Western China International Fair  and undertaken by the Secretariat of Organizing Committee of Western China International Fair. To further lift the service level of the import and export expo with volunteers’ work as the carrier, as appointed by the Secretariat of Organizing Committee of Western China International Fair (Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs), Chengdu Hi-Tech Zone Volunteers Association has started the volunteer recruitment for this import and export expo recently.

The public recruitment way is applied, as published on official websites of Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs and Chengdu Hi-Tech Zone Volunteers Association. The registration time lasted from July 10 to August 10. Target volunteers are college students majored in conference and exhibition and those in lesser-known languages in this province, qualified in basic knowledge and skills in this industry and relevant language and communication skills. They are to provide conference service for major events, professional forum conference service, reception service for domestic and overseas guests, news propaganda, publicity and liaison, logistics, certificate making, official document processing, data printing and issuing and other services. 

Starting from this import and export expo, the volunteer work for Western China International Fair would, on the basis of that of the previous year, develop vigorously toward institutionalization, branding and innovation. First, the public recruitment way is to be applied. The volunteer work for the Western China International Fair would be continuously innovated and improved. A mechanism-based recruitment and selecting system would be gradually established, and the publicity of the volunteer work would be strengthened to increase the influence of the expo and volunteer service and engagement and sense of honor of volunteers. Second, volunteer training and assessment would be strengthened. This time, volunteer training would be divided into two stages: comprehensive training and position-based training. The assessment falls into the initial test, comprehensive test, on-position interview and summary and evaluation. Continuous efforts would be made to optimize the process, gradually establish the volunteer training and assessment mechanism for Western China International Fair, lift the volunteer quality and service level, and get the volunteer work for the fair more systematic and standard. Third, targets volunteers are college students majored in conference and exhibition in the province. To contribute to the talent team building for conference and exhibition industry of Sichuan, this time, the volunteer recruitment is mainly aimed at college students majored in conference and exhibition in this province. Meanwhile, Secretariat of Organizing Committee of Western China International Fair (Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs) would carry out a comprehensive evaluation on this volunteer recruitment together with Sichuan Convention and Exhibition Industry Association and Chengdu Hi-Tech Zone Volunteers Association. They would commend the excellent volunteers. The results of volunteer’s  comprehensive evaluation would gradually become one of the considerations on volunteers in internship and employment. Thus, new talents would be provided for the development of conference and exhibition industry of Sichuan Province.

With the commencement of volunteer recruitment for the Import and Export Expo, the volunteer work for this time is comprehensively launched. A wonderful expo is coming. It could also bring the volunteers with brand-new experiences, challenges and opportunities.
